So belated, happy all gobbles day!
I hope you all had full tummies.

Seann made pumpkin pie from scratch. Even from a real pumpkin, not a can! And it's yummy.
I made mashed potatoes from scratch and they were also delicious. Yay me!

Been a nice quiet weekend of doing nothing much. I dunno about Seann, but I've really enjoyed it, and the time we got to spend together. :)

Yay, we're almost done! I can't freaking wait until this is over.
But then I'll be sad that we'll be completely done, lol.

Tomorrow we're going to buy pumpkins. :) Yay Halloween season!

So this Saturday I have an eye appointment at Sam's Club. I talked to the people there..
Apparently I can get my contacts cheaper than I was getting them at my other doctor's. And hopefully I won't need a different prescription, so I can keep my fancy glasses and not have them need to tear them apart.

Moving's almost done. Excited about that.

Soooo.. Yesterday Seann stopped by the store and saw this cute little wine bottle and brought it home to me!
It says it's mosel-saar-ruwer ; riesling qualitatswein.
And googling it says it's a sweet wine with a green apple after taste, or something. I don't remember the whole review.
Isn't it just awesome though?

Oh. In other news, the baby finch died. :<
Just a perfect end to my strangely bad week.

Strange bad day..

Apparently Akemi died sometime last night. Which makes me sad. Went out there to check on him and I find him half eaten and covered in snails. I took the snails and put them in Seann's tank where there are clown loaches, which love eating snails. Revenge. >:] But his death wasn't that big of a surprise I guess. Two weeks ago he pretty much stopped eating. He was old, I had him for almost 3 years. Then I noticed he was eating the falling pellets.. thought maybe he was getting better. Still really sad though.

Then was walking out the house.. shut the door and was in mid turn when a deer fly landed on my finger. And bit, taking a little chunk out. Then just sat there. Seann went to poke it, and it hopped from my finger to his, and didn't bite at all.

Couldn't find a book I'm looking for. Might have to order it online..

Then went to burger king for a snack. Walked in, went up to the counter. The guy that was standing there walked off to do drive thru, without saying a word to me. So I stood and waited. Some chick walked up and grabbed a rag and went off to wash the tables, still didn't say anything to me. No offer to help me or anything. Pretty much completely ignored me. I dunno, maybe they were racist or something.

I should be really sad or something. Not a devastatingly bad day, just.. frustrating and confusing.

So I have decided!!
I do NOT have lactose intolerance. But I DO have a milk allergy. Just a mild one.
Whenever I drink milk or cream, it makes my tonsils swell up. Just enough so it feels like something's stuck in my throat, not enough to affected my swallowing or breathing.

I should start keeping a food diary. That may help me figure out lots of my body problems. :)

I think my Akemi is dying. I've had him for almost two years now. Apparently bettas don't live very long though.
He's not eating anymore, not chasing the cories, or trying to nom on the ghost shrimp.

I googled a betta's lifespan. Apparently they live 2-3 years in a bowl, a couple more in a tank.
And are often sold at a year old. So that makes him about 3 years old, and he's spent quite a bit of his life in a bowl. I got him in a tiny cup bowl, and bought him a half gallon bowl. Later found a gallon bowl, put him in that. When I got here, he got to be in a 5 gallon tank, which he adored. And he loved chasing the cories I got, and they loved teasing him.

I wish I could help him, I wish I could make him all better. We're gonna move him back into the kitchen, since I don't have to worry about him overheating anymore. Maybe the sunlight will make him happy again. I love my little fishie, I'm not ready to see him go.

It's sad.
B (dad zebra) was attacking the societies again, so I checked to see if there are babies yet.. nope, nothing. Did the math, and no matter how I looked at it, they'd be over due. So I scrubbed my hands and gently took the eggs out and candled them. There's 3 of them, and they're all empty. I feel sad for them, they failed again at making babies.. but at least no lives were lost.

I decided to empty out both nests, and put in lots and lots of cotton. Figure it'll keep everyone busy, gathering cotton and repacking it. Take their mind off of their lost eggs and keep the societies from fighting with them.

Our babies are all grown up now. This week they'll be a month and three weeks old. They act like the older ones, just brattier. Which can be cute. Ended up having to trim at least some of their feathers, that was just too much of a hassle to catch them..
Our cockatiel is doing well. He sits there and whistles to himself and to us. He enjoys having his head scratched, but doesn't trust you putting your hand in the cage unless you have food in it yet.
And I think the zebra finches have babies now. I was hearing what I thought were peeps yesterday, but all you can see are two eggs and lots of cotton fluff, so they're doing a good job hiding them. It's about time for them to have hatched though..

It was a good weekend, and it's been a good week so far too. Just generally pleasant.
Today I'm trying out this new.. drinking coffee thing. Woke up tired, let's see if it can get me through the day or not. :)
